The Twin Towers were an integral part of the World Trade centre in Manhattan, New York City. On September 11th 2001, terrorist hijackers flew two commercial airliners into the towers, the first at 8:46 AM and the second at 9:03 AM. The south tower collapsed at 9.59 AM, and the north tower around half an hour later. 2,752 people died in the attack.
